We are seeking an experience Manager– Data Platform Lead for our Data Analytics team in Sydney office. This role is offered on a full-time basis.

• Manage the creation and ongoing maintenance of dedicated cloud data storage environments
• Support team of Data Engineers, Data Scientists in the set-up, development and management of a dedicated engineering environment and data science workbench
• Investigate and adopt new tools and techniques to increase data science / machine learning performance, automation, and scalability.
• Working closely with corporate IT team members, particularly around security and reliability of the platform
• Be a part of a culture that focuses on delivering excellence for our clients and work with an awesome team of people to work with and access to cutting edge technologies.
• Present data in graphs, charts, tables, etc. and designing and developing relational databases for collecting data.
• Keep a track of trends, patterns and correlation in case of complex data sets.

We’re looking for people with strong Consulting experience. You will need passion for a career in infrastructure, where you will provide a consultative service on a variety of data driven decision making projects within a fast-passed consulting environment.

• You must have prior experience as a data platform lead, data platform owner or big data platform manager role with current hands-on skills around big data and cloud technologies, not limited to; Apache Spark, AWS, GCP and/or Microsoft Azure
• Experience leading migration/s from on-prem to a cloud datalake
• Experience with DevOps/DataOps, data security, data pipelines/ETL, cloud platforms, cost optimisation of computing + cloud in an analytics setting and applied data governance
• Must have worked closely with data scientists before and understand how to improve the process to take models and analytics from POCs, test environments and ideas into production-ready solutions
• Excellent communication skills: presenting to senior stakeholders, working with vendors, translating business or analytics requirements and evaluating new technologies (e.g. trade-offs between ETL & data pipeline tools, open-source vs vendor tools, various data storage and dataware housing approaches, practical data governance and data audit processes, etc.)
• You must have a recent hands-on data engineering or machine learning background
• Experience with event-processing architectures or real-time data solutions is advantageous
